Aquamarines have a blue hue and are are type of beryl. Aquamarines occur at most locations which yield ordinary beryl. Clear yellow beryl, such as that occurring in Brazil is sometimes called aquamarine chrysolite. Where corundum is present the bluish tint of typical aquamarine, it is often termed Oriental aquamarine. The deep blue version of aquamarine is called maxixe. This color fades to white when exposed to a lot sunlight.
