Sapphires are a variety of gemstones that are a mineral combination. Sapphires contain aluminum oxide with small amounts of elements such as iron, titanium, chromium, copper or magnesium. While sapphires come in blue, brown, green, pink, orange, purple, and yellow, the most valuable sapphires are blue.
